Our goal is for students to get the best possible care for their mental health needs. For some types of services, it may be necessary to connect with a therapist in the Champaign community. The cost of community therapy is not included in the student health fee. Student health insurance, or other comparable health insurance plans, may reimburse part of the cost of therapy you receive in the community.

The Counseling Center can assist in locating a therapist who meets specific student needs. Students are able to consult with Counseling Center staff to find referrals, and we  have also partnered with MiResource to provide a directory of local providers who are accepting clients.
