Theoretical Orientation:
I utilize an integrative approach that draws from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT) while utilizing a person-centered lens to magnify the experiences of clients. My practice is also influenced by the existential and humanistic models of therapy to create an environment where clients are empowered to confront their fears, embrace their authentic selves, and realize the strength that lies within them. I have experience in crisis intervention in both the Champaign/Urbana communities and with emerging adults on college campuses.
Professional Interests:
Multiculturalism, identity development, suicide prevention, crisis management, mental health stigma reduction in African American communities, ADHD assessment, relationship/family issues and shame.
