Many students are told that perfectionism is a good thing and necessary for success. However, recent studies have shown that perfectionistic attitudes actually interfere with success. The desire to be perfect can both rob you of a sense of personal satisfaction and cause you to fail to achieve as much as people who have more realistic strivings. To assist students develop awareness for when the desire to be perfect may actually be more harmful than positive and build strategies for challenging perfectionistic thoughts and behaviors, the Counseling Center is now offering a series on perfectionism.
Due to precautions taken to prevent spread of the COVID-19 virus, all in person Perfectionism sessions have been suspended for the remainder of spring 2020 semester.
